Tree felling is often the first stage of development. HK Timberbank provides a one-stop ESG solution to managing waste and carbon emissions from tree felling operations by upcycling valuable salvaged timber.
From collecting, storing, and drying savaged timber, to designing and producing sustainable and traceable timber products, we handle the whole upcycling pipeline locally at our facility based in Long Ping, Hong Kong.
TIMBER SALVAGING AS A CLIMATE ACTION
When felled trees are disposed, stored carbon is released back into the atmosphere as greenhouse gases. By salvaging timber and using them in production, the carbon content in trees is stabilized and embedded within upcycled timber products. Besides, as consumption of imported timber is reduced, carbon emissions from shipping logistics are minimized.

TIMBER DRYING KILN & SAWMILLS
HK Timberbank professionally processes salvaged timber with the thermo-vacuum kiln dryer WDE Maspell HT-6, which stably dries and thermo-treats timber at constant temperature up to 230°C in a vacuum condition to kill off pests and microbes, at three to five times the speed of conventional drying kilns, backed by 90 international patents. All salvaged timber is sorted by species and size wherever possible, properly layered and secured with straps to ensure efficient drying and avoid warping.
Our team portions wood to clients’ requirements with industry standard sawmills Woodmizer LT20 & LX250 and chainsaws, to ensure efficient use of salvaged timber with accurate cuts.
CIC GREEN PRODUCT CERTIFICATION
Timber upcycled at HK Timberbank has received the Construction Industry Council Green Product Certification with Platinum Rating (Licence Number: CICGPC-L-23085(PFC)) under the category of plant-based fibre composite.
EPD LISTED WOOD RECYCLER
We are recognized by the Environmental Protection Department and listed on the Hong Kong Waste Reduction Website as a timber waste collector and recycler.
